Axel is an associate at Legal Scale. Axel represents public and private borrowers, venture capital and private equity sponsors, financial institutions, private credit funds, and alternative lenders in a broad range of financing transactions, with a particular focus on the technology, life sciences, and healthcare sectors.

He advises growth stage and emerging companies on debt financing and other strategic transactions as they scale their businesses. He regularly works with founders, sponsors, and lenders to structure and negotiate financing arrangements that support both immediate business objectives and long-term growth.

Prior to joining Legal Scale, Axel practiced at leading international law firms, including Latham & Watkins LLP and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, where he advised clients on a wide range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions.

Axel received his LL.M. from Duke University School of Law and his LL.M. and LL.B. from the University of Iceland Faculty of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York and California.
